What Present Sir knows about you

Present Sir is used by construction companies to record attendance and work out pay. Your employer gives you your login and decides what goes into the app about you. This page says what the app records, who sees it, and how long it stays.

When you check in

One photo

Taken at check-in and check-out, so your office can confirm who was on site. Your phone shrinks it and strips the camera’s own metadata before it is sent.

Where you were

Your position, how accurate your phone said it was, and how far that put you from your site boundary. Read only while a check-in is open.

Whether you blinked

If your employer turns this on, your phone watches for a blink before taking the photo. The check runs on your phone. Only the result is sent.

Whether the photo looks like you

If your employer turns this on, our server compares it with your photo of record. No face template is kept. Only the result and a closeness figure are stored.

Anything you write

Notes explaining a flagged check-in, and any leave or correction request.

With no signal, the check-in waits on your phone and is sent when the signal returns. Until then it is on your device and nowhere else.

Your photo of record

If your employer turns this on, you are asked once for a clear photo of your face. It is the picture your office sees beside your name and the one your check-in photos are compared against. It is kept in the same private storage.

What your employer records

Your name, phone number, employee code, designation and sites. Your salary, its components, advances and adjustments.

For payroll and statutory paperwork, the office may also enter your date of birth, home address, bank account and IFSC, PF or UAN number, PAN and Aadhaar number. Those are entered by the office, not by you, and attendance works without them.

If you turn on notifications, we store an identifier for that browser on that phone and the keys needed to encrypt a message to it.

What we never do

• Track your location in the background. It is read while a check-in is open and at no other time.
• Read your contacts, messages, call log, photo library or microphone.
• Sell your information. There is no advertising in the app.
• Keep a face template. Nothing stored here can be used to find you in another system.

Who can see it

The office staff at the company that employs you, through links that stop working after ten minutes, and only ever for their own company. Us, because we run the service and have to be able to fix it. Not other workers, and nobody outside.

How long it is kept

For as long as your employer’s account with us is active. Attendance and pay records are also the kind of thing an employer has to be able to produce years later.

To be straight with you: the app does not yet delete old photos and locations automatically after a set period. We are building that. Until it exists, a request to us or to your office is the way to have something removed sooner.

Some things do clear themselves. Records of failed sign-in attempts go after a day. Records of notifications we sent, and of the device you signed in from, go after ninety days.

Services we run on

Supabase holds the database and the private photo storage. Vercel runs the app, on servers in Mumbai. Google Analytics tells us which screens are used; inside the office portal a page address can contain an internal record number, and that address is part of what Analytics receives. Brevo sends sign-in codes to office staff. Your browser’s notification service, run by Google, Mozilla or Apple, delivers notifications that are encrypted before they leave us. OpenStreetMap and Esri draw the map your office sees.

Asking us

Start with your own office. They can correct your details, fix an attendance record, and ask for your photos to be removed. If you would rather come to us, write to littletinysystems@gmail.com with your name, phone number and the company you work for. We check with your employer before changing an attendance or pay record, because those are their books too.
